4.06.19
Collage w/ NOMASiit was hosted by the Illinois Institute of Technology chapter of NOMAS. The event kicked off with a lunch for networking and social interaction. Guests also had the opportunity to visit the newly opened, and student-curated, Bauhaus exhibit featuring photographs from the Bauhaus Archive in Germany. Guests then explored the newly opened Kaplan Institute by Ronan Architects and its unique architectural details and facade. Reconvening to Crown Hall to begin the collage-making portion, the theme: “IIT in Context” was revealed - giving guests insight on the history and realities of how IIT came to be within the neighborhood of Bronzeville. Guests were given a period to collage and converse ideas that exposed and exploited social and cultural issues in the past and even today. Concluding the event was an exhibit of all collages, appreciating the artwork and their messages.
